Lead Guide

Shawn Swenson

Shawn is an Eastern Montana native and his family roots here run generations deep. An outdoorsman to his core, Shawn has been enthralled with hunting and fishing his entire life. A passion for hunting led Shawn to a career of big game guiding over 15 years ago. A licensed hunting guide across 5 states, including Alaska, Shawn has helped well over 100 clients successfully harvest big game animals ranging from Dahl Sheep to Pronghorn Antelope. Shawn truly enjoys helping others succeed in their hunting adventures. Guiding is his dream job. When he's not guiding, he's likely hunting with his family and friends. When it's not hunting season, Shawn is either working for a construction company framing houses across Montana and Wyoming, or golfing. Most importantly, Shawn cherishes time spent with his son Trylan, daughter Rowan, and family.

Chris Bogner

Chris's family has called Eastern Montana home for well over 100 years, and Chris will forever call Montana his home. Chris's father is a whitetail guru, so naturally Chris has been around hunting his whole life. Chris has a special love for big whitetail bucks and bull elk. Chris enjoys looking for antlers almost as much as he loves hunting, and it's probably safe to use the term “Shed Head” when describing him. He enjoys sharing his passion for hunting with family, friends, and clients alike, but isn’t afraid of doing the long solo hunt either. Chris has guided various hunts since 2019 and takes pride in his ability to tailor hunts in accordance to the wants and needs of others. Chris is the co-owner of B&M Fencing. He is a purple heart recipient and combat veteran of Afghanistan where he served as an infantryman in the Marine Corps. Lastly, and most important to Chris is that he is a proud father of two and happily married to his wife Krissy.

Kasey Tharp

Kasey grew up with a passion for all things outdoors. This passion led to a career as a Montana hunting guide that began in 2018. Since then, Kasey has continued to refine his skills in the hunting industry, successfully guiding archery and rifle hunts for elk, deer, and antelope in both central and eastern Montana. If he's not out guiding or hunting for himself, you can likely find Kasey working hard for his own construction company. If he's not on the jobsite, there's a good chance he's with his wife and daughter at his home in Miles City, or somewhere camping or fishing. Kasey is a very hard working individual, family man, skilled outdoorsman, jack of all trades.

Kyle Mutcher

Kyle, a Utah native, grew up hunting, fishing, and exploring some of the best mule deer and elk opportunities the nation has to offer. His passion for wildlife management, education, photography, and a love for all things hunting, led him to a successful and experienced life of guiding. He may not have been born in Eastern Montana, but his family ties to the area run deep. Between those family ties, friends, and better hunting opportunities than any other state, he decided to scratch his own history into the prairie soil in 2012 and hasn’t looked back.

Years of sports and construction management positions have taught Kyle how to be a team player, natural leader, and competitor. Kyle played college football at Weber State University, and was awarded honors as a Consensus First-Team All American at Center his Senior year, 2009. Kyle was also signed as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills in 2010 and had a short stint in the NFL. Kyle has experience successfully operating multiple businesses, is the Co-Owner of B&M Fencing, and was the manager for Cottonwood Outfitters from 2021-2023.

If Kyle isn't on the fence-line, or in the woods, he's probably fishing somewhere or spending time with family and friends.
